Press release 23 March 2018
Copenhagen FinTech, innovation hub for Danish fintech start-ups, and the international law firm DLA Piper have embarked on an exciting collaboration. The idea of the collaboration is that DLA Piper, with its global commitment to FinTech, will advise Danish fintech start-ups on legal issues as well as on raising equity in domestic and international markets.
DLA Piper will also establish a presence in the Copenhagen FinTech Lab by stationing legal staff members at Applebys Plads, thus discovering new forms and methods of collaboration and contributing to the development of the fintech industry.
Thomas Krogh Jensen, CEO of Copenhagen FinTech, says:
“Fintech is a global movement, and Copenhagen FinTech focusses on facilitating Danish fintech start-ups scaling globally through strong partnerships. From this new collaboration we get access to i.e. DLA Piper’s global network, and our start-ups get access to legal advice around the world.”
Mette Lykke, Associate with DLA Piper Denmark, says:
”We wish to use our long-standing association with the Danish financial sector and our global presence as well as our in-depth knowledge about fintech to contribute to a strong development of the fintech industry in Denmark, while at the same time drawing inspiration for our traditional legal work.”
