Balance for Better #1: Mind the Gap

08 March 2019

15:30-17:00 7 Applebys Plads, 1411 København
On March 8th, Copenhagen FinTech invites founders and investors to its first Balance for Better workshop to bridge the gap between female founders and investors. A panel debate will give an insight into the experiences of female founders when trying to acquire funding as well as the knowledge and perspectives of investors on topics concerning gender equality on boards, senior management teams and in investment decisions. Together we will discuss if and how gender can be seen as a factor in predicting the success of a venture.  In order to engage in a panel debate on how to actively address gender equality in investment decisions, we will focus on the following questions: What is the state of the art of current funding structures and how can we apply a strategy to create a gender-inclusive financing landscape? (How) are language, rhetoric, stereotypes are influencing the assessment of a venture? (How) can we include non-financial measures (like gender equality) in the value assessment of ventures? What role can factors like leadership, governance, policies, target markets, product development, marketing, PR, supply chain and community engagement play in the assessment of gender equality? Program:  Introduction by Thea Messel on What is the current funding structures and how can we apply a strategy to create a gender-inclusive financing landscape Panel debate: Moderator: Marianne Haahr, Director Sustainable Digital Finance Alliance Panel participants:
