Januar skyrocketed to becoming the leading European payment gateway for crypto companies – and has now launched the future of fiat-crypto conversion

Late 2021, Danish fintech Januar applied to be part of the Copenhagen Fintech Mentor program with a simple mission: allowing crypto brokers and institutions to receive and send payments, just like any other business.

What followed made history: a record-breaking seed round in May of 2022, followed by the granting of first-of-its-kind Payment Service Provider License for crypto-related payments, a team growth of +30 employees, and were ready to accept the first customers onboard the platform. It was some of the fastest growth ever seen in the fintech ecosystem.

This was further validated in early 2023, when the company obtained a Payment Institution License from the Danish FSA, making them the first payment institute that are allowed to provide operational accounts to crypto companies within Europe.
