Nordic Fintech Center

A platform for connecting the Nordic fintech community with University Partners.

The Nordic Fintech Center is an ambitious partnership program led by Copenhagen Fintech, together with University of Copenhagen, Copenhagen Business School (CBS), the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), and Aarhus University. Its purpose is to establish a stronger and more coordinated model for cluster–university entrepreneurship acceleration to scale the Danish and Nordic fintech ecosystem.

About the center

The Nordic Fintech Center launches together with the founding university partners.

The initiative will build a structured funnel between Copenhagen Fintechs successful Nordic fintech accelerator and the entrepreneurship incubators from major universities such as the Digital Tech Summit, AI Pioneer Center, X-Tech program, The Kitchen (AU), Copenhagen School of Entrepreneurship (CSE), DTU Skylab, and KU Lighthouse.

A significant effort will also go into attracting private-sector funding for research, hackathons, and innovation activities across universities.

At the heart of the model lies a coordinated interaction between university research, entrepreneurship centers, student start-ups and researcher spin-outs, and Copenhagen Fintech’s mature acceleration programs.

Traditional bridge-building, including research collaboration, curriculum development, and talent matchmaking, will remain essential. However, the innovative step-change lies in the strengthened and systematic focus on entrepreneurship and early-stage innovation. This effort is driven by the four dedicated Fintech Ambassadors: Kristine Holst Frisk (CBS), Danny Grydholt-Jantzen (KU), Christian Nicolai Thiesen (DTU), and Tekin Esen (AU).

Bringing the different university partners together in cross-disciplinary, fintech-focused startup programs is one of the main goals of the Center.
