Copenhagen Fintech receives “10 Years of Excellence - Fintech Nordic 2026” award

Copenhagen Fintech has been recognised by Global Banking & Finance Review with the “10 Years of Excellence - Fintech Nordic 2026” award.

The recognition arrives in a milestone year for Copenhagen Fintech. Since its establishment in 2016, the organisation has worked to create an environment where fintech startups can develop alongside the financial sector and gain access to the knowledge, partnerships, capital and market opportunities needed to grow.

Over the past decade, Nordic fintech has evolved significantly. What began as a growing community of startups and early adopters has matured into an ecosystem developing technology that supports payments, identity, compliance, pensions, insurance and other essential financial services.

This progress has not been created by one organisation alone. It is the result of sustained collaboration between entrepreneurs, financial institutions, technology companies, investors, universities, regulators and public organisations. The award therefore represents more than an organisational anniversary. It recognises ten years of collective work to strengthen fintech innovation across Denmark and the wider Nordic region.

From the past decade to the next

The timing of the award also gives us an opportunity to look forward.

From 23rd to 24th September 2026, Nordic Fintech Week will bring the community together to examine the forces shaping the next era of finance. Across the week, founders, financial leaders, investors, policymakers and technology experts will exchange perspectives, form new partnerships and explore how the Nordics can continue to contribute to a more innovative, resilient and competitive financial system.

As financial services are reshaped by artificial intelligence, new infrastructure, changing regulation and growing geopolitical uncertainty, collaboration across the ecosystem is becoming even more important. Nordic Fintech Week provides a shared platform for those conversations and for turning them into practical action.

Receiving the “10 Years of Excellence” award is a welcome recognition of how far the ecosystem has come. More importantly, it gives us renewed motivation for the work ahead.

The first ten years were built together. Now, we look forward to building the next ten.
